For this and the next 5 Blog Posts, I won’t be discussing Architecture in general terms as I have in the past. I will take you along the path of the Design Process as it relates to your home remodeling project. Understanding this process can be very helpful and comforting for those just starting to think about a project, those ready to start the process, or those just dreaming about what they would like to do one day.
Sometime the hardest part of the Design Process is actually getting it started. You, your spouse, your friends and relatives have all been talking with you about your big “plans” to remodel your home. You love the location, the neighbors, but you would really like to update that 1950s feel that your home currently has. New Kitchen, enlarge Bedrooms and Bathrooms, more curb appeal, fix the old crumbling room addition in the back of remove as many walls as possible to create a new, open floor plan. That’s when you need to contact an architect.
But don’t just call any architect. Most architects prefer to design new construction buildings, either commercial or residential. Very few architects what to get involves with remodeling projects and even fewer want to get involves with a residential remodeling project. So to find an architecture firm like C3 Architecture & Design is highly unusual… an architecture firm that SPECIALIZES in residential remodeling! That’s all we do. That’s right, true EXPERTS.
Once you have made the commitment and made the call to start the design process, make sure the architect comes to you to introduce themselves and their company, and to see the Project. Make sure that the chemistry between you and them is comfortable. Communication your needs and wants to the architect and ask them questions regarding your design, their involvement with the project and their knowledge and expertise with this type of project. You want this project done once and done right. Hire an expert that will treat your project personally and with the knowledge and expertise that only a specialist can offer. Communicate openly and frequently. Let the architect know what you like and don’t like. Don’t worry about hurting their feelings, as this design is all about you, your needs, and your wants. You, the client, must be happy!
Let C3 Architecture & Design CONSULT with you about your needs and wants, CONCEIVE functional and beautiful designs, and CREATE the spaces you had always dreamed about.
I will end with that thought, but only for now. I will return with more adventures into the Wacky World of Architecture! Have a wonderful day.
